Appalachia Ohio Alliance (AOA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the stewardship of Appalachia Ohio and the cultural heritage of its people.  The Alliance will promote conservation of natural areas and open spaces while encouraging economic growth that emphasizes the region’s scenic beauty and cultural values.

GOALS

To provide appropriate conservation options to interested landowners, thus enabling them to preserve – in perpetuity – the natural ecosystems of existing forests, rivers, wetlands, green spaces and farmlands.

To support educational and research activities that foster an appreciation of and pride for the natural features, native plants and animals, scenic beauty and cultural heritage characteristic of Appalachia Ohio.

To form partnerships and collaborate with other individuals and organizations that are working throughout Appalachia Ohio to conserve its natural and cultural heritage.

To encourage an eco-tourism industry whose success depends upon the preservation of scenic natural and agricultural lands, and other small family industries, arts and crafts unique to Appalachia Ohio.

To facilitate the protection of historical and cultural landmarks.

Preserving Family Lands Today for Tomorrow.
