Learn to fish! Join experienced volunteers for a pond Fishing Clinic at AOA’s Demonstration Site in Rockbridge. This program is targeted to kids 8 years and older.
Activities will include live fishing in a pond with plenty of fish. Fishing will follow casting practice with several types of rods and reels, basic tackle, tips, and techniques, an overview of fishing equipment, bait, safety and basic fish identification. AOA volunteers will assist with all parts of fishing instruction from baiting hooks to casting and unhooking fish.
This safe and fun learning experience will instruct youth in one of the most popular outdoor recreation activities. It is an excellent opportunity to introduce kids to fishing and enjoyment of our bountiful natural resources.
